Preferred Network Access by CIGNA states that its discount dental plan allows members to achieve  maximum savings on dental care. After enrolling in the dental program  , members can visit any network dentist.  

How the CIGNA Dental Network Access Plan Works

Like other plans, there is the option of visiting an out-of-network dentist, however costs may be higher. In any case, if an in-network or out-of-network dentist is used, Preferred Network Access will reimburse all or part of the costs for covered procedures up to the annual dollar maximum, and after meeting the deductible or satisfying any waiting periods.

·  The CIGNA dental discount plan covers most preventive procedures at a reasonable cost, or at no cost to members.

·  Members can enjoy savings on non-covered services. And the savings apply to covered services when the annual maximum or other plan limitations are exceeded. To take advantage of these savings, a network dentistmust be used.

·  Out-of-pocket costs are lower when visiting an in-network dentist.

·  Filing a claim form is not needed with a visit to an in-network dentist

·  A referral to see a specialist is not needed.

Group Dental Coverage for Employees from Cigna Dental 

The CIGNA Dental Preferred Network Access program enables a business to lets its employees choose any dentist, in or out of our Preferred Provider network. They'll be reimbursed for all or part of their costs for covered procedures, up to the annual dollar maximum, and after meeting a deductible or satisfying any waiting periods.

Coverage includes most preventive procedures at low or no cost to members. Network dentists agree not to bill members for the difference between plan payment and usual fees, which saves members cost and effort. Members also have referral-free access to specialists.

Available Dental Savings Plan Discounts  

Preferred Network Access is a discount or "reduced-fee" dental plan. General dentists who participate in Preferred Network Access have agreed to accept the Preferred Network Access contracted rate as payment in full for services performed. A sample table of Preferred Network Access discounted fees can be found below. 

Preferred Network Access members who visit a participating specialist receive discounts according to the fee schedule. Specialists include:

• Orthodontists - braces  
• Periodontists - gums  
• Oral Surgeons - wisdom tooth or major extractions   
• Prosthodontists - bridges and dentures  
• Pediatric Dentists - child treatment  
• Endodontist - extensive root canals
